THROUGH HISTORY AND BEAUTIFUL BEACHES                    

Day 1.
Arrive at Catania airport. Coach transfer to Hotel 4* in Siracusa. The hotel is a refined former aristocratic dwelling in the heart of Ortigia, home of the most important buildings since the 13th. century.Guided tour of Ortigia, a small island site of ancient Greek temples, a labyrinth of narrow medieval streets and flamboyant Baroque Palaces set in a turquoise sea. Dinner in a selected local restaurant. Back to the hotel. Overnight.

 

Day 2.
Breakfast in hotel. The morning starts with a visit to the picturesque local fish market, winding through the alleys of Ortigia, discovering typical Sicilian products. Afterwords, Madam Fiora will show you how to prepare 2 traditional Sicilian dishes that will be cooked and served as a very special lunch.In the afternoon guided tour of the “Neapolis Archeological Park” (from the Greek “new city”), which will include the Basilica of S. Nicolo dei Cordari, the Roman Amphitheatre, the Altar of Ierone, the Greek Theatre, the Paradise Quarry and the so-called “Ear of Dionysus”. Back to hotel. Dinner and overnight.

 

Day.3.
Breakfast in hotel. Out on a catamaran to enjoy the most beautiful beaches of Syracuse’s Coast: The Plemmirio, made eternal by the verses of the latin poet Virgil, it’s a prehistoric village that extends from Capo Murro di Porco along the Maddalena peninsula, reflecting in the blue sea of Syracuse; thanks to its flora and fauna, and to its historic importance, in 2005 the site became a riserve with the name of Protectted Marittime Area of Plemmirio. Vendicari a natural riserve since 1984 – where, every year, hundreds of species of birds rest in their way to the zones of reproduction. Lunch in Marzamemi, a small fishermen village. its name comes from the Marsa hamen that means bay of turtledoves. Along the coast you can admire Portopalo di Capo Passero : We are between the Isola delle Correnti and Capo Passero, both splendidly set in an unrivalled seascape, where the Sicily Channel and the Ionian Sea meet each other ina a mix of different shades of blue waters, form indigo to tourquoise. Crystal clear water as in the sea in between Scalo Mandrie and the fortified tower of the Capo Passero island. Back to Hotel. Dinner and overnight..
Day 4.

Breakfast in hotel. Guided excursion by Jeep 4×4 of Mt. Etna that with its 3340 meters is the highest active volcano in Europe offers a stunning view of the sea from the Gulf of Catania, Taormina Bay and the Aeolian Islands. A bended road, fruit trees, a chestnut grove and a great variety of rose bushes, lying around the ancient family castle ” Villa Nicolosi”, at 550 metres above sea level, in the idyllic countryside setting of lush vineyard-covered slopes of the Etna foothills. Lunch will be provided in cellar of this local winery, where the chef and sommelier will show to the group the way of preparing and cooking typical sicilian dishes. In the afternoon guided tour of Taormina, the most famous resort of Sicily. Back to the hotel. Dinner and overnight.

Day 5.
Breakfast in hotel. Guided tour of Noto. A Unesco world heritage site, Noto is the pearl of Baroque art in Sicily. Lunch lunch in a winery belonging to the famous noble family of Noto “Nicolaci”. Tasting of dishes accompanied by wines from their own production. Departure.
